Although many people think that frozen foods are unhealthy, keep in mind that the "quicker the better" does not necessarily mean unhealthy. Frozen vegetables are actually more nutritionally reliable than fresh because freezing prevents sensitive vitamins and nutrients from being lost while the food is being transported. Frozen fruit and vegetables can also be healthier, with greater levels of vitamins and cancer-fighting antioxidants, than leafy 'fresh' produce. Vegetables and fruits that are sold in the frozen cabinets are chilled immediately after harvest. This means that they retain higher levels of nutrients until they are eaten.
